Philadelphia International Music Festival Intern Program

Pre-Camp Intern Orientation Dates: June 17 – June 20, 2015

Festival Dates: June 20 – July 3, 2015

Legend: The Internship Program at the Philadelphia International Music Festival (PIMF), in cooperation with WCU, includes opportunities for participants, ages 19–35 who are music students currently enrolled in WCU undergraduate or graduate programs, or WCU alumni. Interviews will be held for candidates in the Music Industry, Management, Education, Performance, Library Studies, and related fields for the following positions:

  • Assistant to Director of Outreach
  • Chamber Music Program
  • Children’s Program
  • Day Camp
  • Festival Office
  • Music House*
  • Orchestras and Symphonic Winds
  • Percussion Department
  • Resident Dorm, Messengers, and Student Overseers
  • Student Manager Program
  • Photographic projects

*Music House is a program for young artists, ages 19 – 35 that includes orchestra rehearsals and performances with Cristian Macelaru, Resident Conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Scholarships will be offered to interns for their participation in the Music House Orchestra Division as well as the Symphonic Winds Division, by audition. Certificates of participation will be awarded by PIMF to all interns following completion of the service period with PIMF, July 3, 2015.

  • Applications must be received in the WCU Music office by January 25, 2015
  • Preliminary interviews will be conducted by WCU personnel prior to February 10, 2015
  • Final Interviews will be conducted by PIMF staff personnel February 18, 2015
  • Up to 15 Interns may be considered
  • Interns must attend Pre-Camp Training on the Bryn Mawr College Campus June 17th – June 20th, and be available from June 20 – July 3, 2015 during the Festival
  • Interns wishing to work in our New Jersey office may begin as early as April 15, 2015. A stipend will be paid to interns who accept this option
  • Interns’ auditions will be held for the Music House Orchestra and Symphonic Winds in April, 2015.

    • hi Alex, in reading the Intern Program Outline it looks like as an intern you have access to participate in Music House and Symphonic Winds, which is the compensation for your work.
