Collaborative Pianist JOB DESCRIPTION Supervisor: Board of Directors/President

Chorale Description: The Rainbow Chorale of Delaware (RCD) is a non-profit LGBT and allies non-auditioned community chorus of ~45 singing members. The RCD also has an auditioned chamber ensemble, Prism. The RCD rehearses on Monday evenings at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Wilmington DE. The RCD has a trimester schedule running from September to June with each trimester culminating in a concert. The concerts include music from a wide range of genres and one of the concerts may be a Showcase/Cabaret event with more musical theater elements and small group performances. The RCD also performs approximately 8 outreach events in the community per year – these typically involve 10-30 minutes of music and take place at another organization’s event.

  • Provide choral accompaniment on the piano/keyboard for all rehearsals for the Rainbow Chorale of Delaware and Prism, the RCD chamber ensemble.

Artist Instructor

We are looking for dynamic, artistic painters with teaching experience to work in a creative, entertaining BYOB environment as Artist Instructors & Artist Assistants. You must be able to engage and guide both small groups and classes of up to 50 people to paint an acrylic painting in 2-3 hours. Artist Instructors will also perform studio and artist assistant tasks. Primarily evening classes, but classes and parties are offered 7 days a week during daytime and evening hours for kids and adults. Weekend availability is required. We can’t consider applicants with no weekend availability.
You must be able to reproduce our paintings, teach others (mostly beginners) to paint them, and be entertaining while doing so. This is not a formal art class – it is a fun night out for our guests and you are the host! Job Posting – York County Honors Choirs Associate Conductor

The York County Honors Choirs (PA) seeks applicants for the new position of Associate Conductor of the Junior and Senior Honors Choirs. In this part-time position, this person will work with both choirs, assisting the Directors with conducting and/or accompanying full and sectional rehearsals, concerts, and special events. St. Basil the Great Church in Kimberton, PA seeks a Director of Music Ministry. This is a year round position which reports to the Director of Liturgy. The Director of Music Ministry is responsible for planning, coordination, execution, and oversight of all music associated with worship, religious education, social ministry, and evangelization in the parish, including weekend Masses, weddings, funerals, and other special liturgies and sacramental celebrations. The Director of Music Ministry will direct and accompany parish choirs, as well as recruit and train cantors. Job Description:

Dynamic LCMS Lutheran church poised for growth seeking talented professional to lead our traditional worship music on the organ and direct our choir. Concordia’s music ministry also includes opportunities for those comfortable with a variety of musical styles, to lead our handbells and engage our children and youth. OC will engage in team ministry with Pastor, Minister of Family Life and gifted laity to energize and enrich our music and worship ministries while advancing our broader mission of Serving Community by Sharing Christian Hope.

 

Required Responsibilities:

  • Lead worship music – two (September to May – one in summer) traditional Sunday morning Divine services and special services on Wednesdays in Advent, Christmas Eve and Day, Ash Wednesday, Wednesdays in Lent, and Maundy Thursday and Good Friday during Holy Week. Liturgical worship to be primarily led on Walker Technical digital organ. OC will work in partnership with Pastor and Minister of Family Life to select worship settings and hymns to unify worship seasons, themes and messages.
  • Direct Adult Choir – on Sunday mornings during worship and choir rehearsal (Thursday evenings) in preparation for worship – September to May. OC will select and secure, while managing the church budget allocated for these resources, all choral and instrumental music – prelude, anthem, voluntary, and postlude.
  • Special services – weddings and funerals as arise including meeting needs of families. Festival Sundays may include directing additional musicians (e.g. brass quartet).

Additional Music Ministry Opportunities at Concordia:

  • Direct Handbell Choir – on periodic Sunday mornings during worship and rehearsals (Thursday evenings) in preparation for worship – September to May; select and secure all handbell music and monitor maintenance of handbells.
  • Enhance music ministry – with additional worship songs on piano including emerging alternative worship and praise styles, and especially in conjunction with our Youth Sundays and Christmas Pageants. Outreach concerts may also be created.
  • Enrich children’s music ministry – through leading Sunday school opening (Sunday mornings between services) on piano, music at Vacation Bible School and the possible growth of youth and children’s choirs to participate periodically in worship.


Qualifications:

  • Education – Bachelors Degree in Organ or Sacred Music, or equivalent music degree preferred
  • Proficiency – demonstrate outstanding musical competency on digital organ. Leading handbells, playing piano, and an openness to expand our music ministry through a variety of musical styles and the creative use of diverse musical talents within the congregation would be additionally beneficial skills.
  • Experience – at least 5 years leading worship music and directing choirs preferred
  • Leadership – in team building and growth to reach the full potential of our music and worship ministries
  • Faith – articulate strong personal Christian belief with opportunity to share this faith through nurturing others while utilizing music

Compensation:

  • Hours – part-time (estimated to average 15 hours per week), with availability to use facilities for private teaching purposes.
  • Salary – individually negotiable; commensurate with experience, education and assumption of specific responsibilities delineated previously; two weeks paid vacation including two Sundays per year agreed upon with Pastor. Honorariums for weddings and funerals will be in addition to the established annual salary.
  • Start date – negotiable, but as soon as agreement can be reached

Facility and Support:

  • Sanctuary – built in 1985; 250 seats – with Sunday worship attendance averaging about 175 people (325 total members from 165 households)
  • Organ – 2010 Walker Technical Digital Organ – 67 ranks, 3 manuals and pedal board
  • Music Room – work station (desk and computer), rehearsal space with piano, and extensive music libraries for voice and handbell choirs
  • Budget – includes funds for music, piano tuning, guest musicians and more.

Schmata Productions Community Youth Theater is looking for someone who might want to get some volunteer hours for a great cause. We are in need of someone for promotion of Schmata for the show we are performing in May and the Summer Experiences in the summer. Candidate needs to be able to artistically compile information and submit to local news papers, schools. We have all of the information but could use some help. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in learning about non-profit organizations and looks great on a resume!
