Arts Management Internship Opportunity
Mt. Gretna (Harrisburg/Lancaster/Hershey), PA
Gretna Music, south-central Pennsylvania’s premier presenter of world-class concerts, is offering full-time and/or part-time internships in arts management for summer 2016. The successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity to work with Gretna Music’s management in customer service, public relations, promotions, corporate and community relations, artist relations, and marketing. Gretna Music will be presenting 10-15 classical music, jazz and other concerts in its 41st Summer Festival in 2016 in Mt. Gretna, PA. Concerts are presented from July through September.
A sample list of responsibilities could include order processing, writing press releases and other promotional materials, artist hospitality, researching and writing program notes, box office, and general office support. We will tailor the final job description to fit the successful applicant’s interests and skills. This position is particularly suited for students with interest in arts management, business administration, writing, communications, public relations, marketing and /or music.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, and should have good interpersonal, writing, research, and design skills. An ability to learn quickly and apply existing knowledge and experience to new situations is especially valued. Your own housing, reliable transportation and willingness to work weekends are required. A stipend of up to $2,000 is included (based on a full-time internship). The internship runs from May 31 through August 19, plus weekends through September 11.
